Position offered for a Programmer at BioTector Analytical Systems Limited.
We are a well-established indigenous manufacturer of a range of high tech, high value on-line liquid Analysers (TOC/TN/TP). We are considered the high-end most reliable market leader. The Analysers are distributed worldwide and are sold under the Biotector brand name and also under the Hach and Hach Lange brand. The Analysers incorporate an oxidation process and all aspects of the Analyser are developed in-house, including ARM microcontroller based system, electrics, mechanical hardware and chemical process. We continually challenge ourselves to develop innovative solutions to complex issues faced by our customers. We place great importance in R&D and over 25% of our staff are engaged in R&D activities. We now wish to appoint a Software Developer to work within our R&D function to assist in further developing our innovative technology and to be a key participant in new product development.
Objective of Role
We are looking for a Software Developer for a permanent position in Cork. The candidate would be an experienced C/C++ developer in Linux or Windows, and experience in an embedded environment would also be an advantage.
Required skills:
- 3 – 5 years or more of experience in C/C++ development in a Linux or Windows environment
- Web development experience
- Experience of working closely with design engineers
- Good understanding of real-time embedded programming, principally on the ARM 9 microcontroller
- Experience in TCP/IP network and WEB application development
- Knowledge of Java, PHP, Ajax, Python an advantage
- The ability to write clear technical documentation and provide information which can be understood by non-technical personnel
- The ability to design and develop test systems
- Good team player within a multi-cultural development division
- Self-starter requiring minimal supervision
- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to demonstrate initiative
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
